Okay let’s be fair, if you’re a college student or hoping to attend college on scholarship, you’ll most likely accept one from wherever you can get it. Considering the rising cost of tuition these days, any organization that is willing to fund some, if not all of your education expenses is considered a win. The first thing I want to bring up is that I strongly suggest that you fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid ( FAFSA). Filling out the FAFSA helps to determine a student’s eligibility for need-based federal financial aid for college. This financial aid can come in the form of grants, scholarships, work-study or loans, all of which have the potential to help pay for college.

Cause Driven Organizations and You

I would also like to highlight a few scholarship opportunities made available through nationally recognized cause driven organizations who are embracing inclusion and diversity in STEM. You can find specific cause driven STEM organizations all over the web. As a matter of fact, the Ichan School of Medicine at Mount Sinai has a detailed list  here . All of these organizations are indeed worthy of one’s time and consideration. The organizations that I chose the highlight below happen to be the one’s that I know offer STEM scholarship opportunities. I am sure there are probably other organizations that are not on the list below, but it does offer a good start for the reader. Each link below will open the scholarship page and/or application. It is also good to know about these cause driven organizations just encase you desire to align yourself with one of them in the future. There could be one that has a compelling mission that resonates with you and motivates you to answer a call for assistance and service to others.

Something to Remember

A good tip is to always consider where you may want to work in the future, and check to see if that particular company or organization offers scholarships. If it is a large company or organization and its embracing innovation, then there is a good chance that it may offer scholarship opportunities. Towards the bottom of our list are some big names that also offer scholarship opportunities. This is all done to get you thinking about your future and keep you aware of what is out there for your benefit.
